1. Fold the paper towel in half vertically and then horizontally. Reopen it and cut along the lines of each quarter. Set aside three pieces.

2. Fold the remaining piece as you did in step 1. Press firmly on the folds so that the four-layer rectangle will lie flat.
\
3. Review these procedures for using watercolors and paint a simple design on the folded paper towel. Try to use enough paint to soak through all four layers.
\
a) Plan your work so that you can begin painting with the lighter colors first and proceed to darker colors.
\

Materials: 
plain white heavyweight (kitchen) paper towel, scissors, watercolor paint set with brush, water container, newspaper-covered work area, ornament hangers, small paper clips or cellophane tape

Use Stencils to introduce shapes, figures, or what ever the stencils are. Have students use the stencils to draw and compile pictures & then take each drawing and discuss what they drew.

Materials: 
paper, stencils, crayons
