Little Red Riding Hood

Posted by admin

Once upon a time there was a little girl with her mother in a small village at the edge of a forest. She always wore the beautiful red cape and hood that her grandmother gave her as a present, so everyone called her ?Little Red Riding Hood.?
\
One day her mother called her and said, ?I want you to take this cake and a bottle of wine in this basket to your grandmother. She is ill and they?ll do her good.? Keep on the path and don?t wander off into the woods,? her mother warned her.
\
?I will,? promised the little girl. She waved goodbye to her mother.
\
Not far along the path, Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. She didn?t know he was mean, so she wasn?t scared of him.
\
?Good morning Little Red Riding Hood,? said the wolf, ?where are you going??
\
?Good morning sir,? Little Red Riding Hood replied, ?I am going to visit my grandmother. She is sick and weak and I am bringing her some cake and wine.?
\
?Where does your grandmother live?? asked the wolf.
\
?On the other side of the forest, in the little house under the oak tree,? she answered.
\
The wolf thought to himself, ?If I am smart enough, I can eat them both.? The wolf went along with Little Red Riding Hood, but secretly he thought of a trick that would allow him to eat the grandmother first and the little girl afterwards.
\
Finally, he exclaimed, ?Look at these beautiful flowers all around us!? Why are you just hurrying along without noticing any of it?? The girl looked around. ?The wolf was right,? she thought. ?Mother told me not to leave the track, but what if I went and pick a little bouquet for grandmother real quick? She will be so glad about it?. So she went off to pick some flowers.
\
The animals of the forest sang this song: ?Singing bird, smiling sun, flowers to pick for everyone. Frisky frogs, slimy snails, tiny mice that chase their tails. Forest friends feeling free. It?s a happy place to be.?
\
When the wolf saw her, he crept away and ran to the grandmother?s house. He knocked at the door.
\
?Who is it?? Grandmother asked from her bed.
\
?It?s me, Little Red Riding Hood! Please open up, I have brought you cake and wine,? the wolf answered with a high voice. The grandmother fell for it and beckoned him in. The wolf leapt on to her bed and swallowed the grandmother in one piece.
\
After he had swallowed the grandmother, the wolf put on the grandmother?s glasses and her hood and went to bed and waited. Shortly after, Little Red Riding Hood entered and came close to her bed.
\
?Good morning grandmother!? She called out and went inside. She saw her grandmother lying on the bed looking very strange.
\
?Oh, Grandmother! What big ears you have!?
\
?That?s so I can hear you better, my dear.?
\
?Oh, Grandmother! What big eyes you have!?
\
?That?s so I can see you better, my dear!?
\
?Oh, Grandmother! What big hands you have!?
\
?That?s so I can hold you better, my dear!?
\
?And Grandmother?what a big mouth you have!?
\
?That?s so I can eat you better!?
\
With these words, the wolf jumped out of the bed and swallowed Little Red Riding Hood in one mouthful. Then, he went back into bed and fell asleep. He snored very loud. Just then, the woodcutter passed by. He was shocked because of the loud snoring and went inside the house to see what was making such a terrible sound. He saw the wolf lying there. He cut open the wolf with his axe. Little Red Riding Hood and her mother jumped out of the wolf?s stomach. They were safe! The girl collected some big rocks and the hunter stuffed them in the wolf?s belly. When the wolf woke up, he wanted to run away, but he couldn?t. The rocks were so heavy that he dropped dead on the spot.
\
When the girl went home that evening, she decided she was never going to leave the track and wander off in the woods when her mother told her not to.
